Reducing Brown Water Days
Rain storms transport so much eroding sediment to the coast that the water turns brown. These brown water days have significant detrimental impacts on coral reef health and habitat and impair human community uses of coastal waters in West Maui. Stabilizing sediments and reducing erosion advances ongoing efforts to mitigate sediment transport to the Tier 1 Priority Ka’anapali-Kahekili reefs in West Maui.
