Pilot Program
Market and implement LID practices at model homes in the St. Mary’s River watershed.
1) Develop marketing materials for the salespersons
2) Improve site signage focusing on cost effectiveness and savings that result from implementation
3) Testing whether LID increases sales
Broad Implementation
Target and refine LID marketing methods using national survey techniques. The marketing scheme and information developed in this project will be readily transferable to other Bay communities.
1) Proof of concept for LID and LID marketing impacting home sales
2) Effective marketing methods and tools to reach a broad audience
Evaluation
Conduct surveys to evaluate:
1) satisfaction of home buyers, residents, and builders
2) effectiveness of signage messages at model homes
3) impact on home sales
The satisfaction surveys are designed by social psychologists. Targeted participants include home buyers, builders, members of the community, and individuals who toured model homes.
