Churches, Food Pantries, and Schools Participate

Community involvement is critical in reducing sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) events. Participation from these groups is critical in targeting reduction the 40% of SSO events caused by improper disposal.

Survey results indicated target audiences trusted messaging from churches. Congregations participated in outreach efforts to help spread information about proper disposal to protect clean waterways.

School communities participated in these clean drain efforts and assisted with community education.

Food pantries secured additional donations by collecting Clean Drain Campaign pledges.
